Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Source: Twitter)
Uttar Pradesh (UP) Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu today (12 July) announced that the party will be fighting the 2022 State Assembly elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, reports Livemint.
Announcing that Vadra will be the "face of the party" in 2022 elections, Lallu went on to add that Vadra hails from UP and that her family and she have affection with the soil of UP and its people.
Lallu also said that his party will not be forging any alliances, whether pre-poll or post-poll. He said, "We will forge an alliance with the public, democracy, youth, farmers, poor, Dalits, oppressed and deprived people."
Trying to assert that the incumbent UP Government led by Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath is afraid of Vadra, Lallu said, "The way she is cornering the government on almost every issue, it seems it is feeling afraid and entangled."
Lallu also said that under Vadra's leadership the party will become the voice of the people and they will shower their blessings on us.
