Security forces deployed in the Union territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Monday (25 November) successfully gunned down a terrorist in an encounter in the Kashmir Valley's Pulwama district, reports Economic Times.
The encounter ensued after militants opened fire on the security forces who had been deployed at a vehicle checkpoint in Shadimarg region in the district of Pulwama's Tachwara village. Following the development, the forces opened retaliatory fire.
Asian News International (ANI) has reported that those killed have been identified as wanted Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists named Irfan Naira and Irfan Rather, with the former being a category A terrorist who was believed to be close to slain Hizbul commander Riyaz Naikoo
