In a major grouse, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Pune unit's president Jagdish Mulik has alleged that the city has received just Rs 3 crore from the Maharashtra Government to fight and contain the pandemic, reports Asian News International (ANI).

Mulik has slammed the State Government led by political rival Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition over not providing financial support to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) which has by itself spent over Rs 200 crore so far.

Mulik said, "The state is not providing financial help just because PMC is ruled by BJP and the state government is run by MVA which is doing politics."

Going into details, Mulik has shared that the costs of door-to-door surveys, testing, antigen tests, PPE kits, ventilators and the building of COVID Care Centres have all been covered by PMC alone so far. He also shared that the PMC is also managing the expenses of treatment in about 10 private hospitals for COVID-19 treatment.
