Punjab Government Working On Policy For Promotion For Gallantry Award Recipients Who Join Punjab Police

The Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Captain Amrinder Singh announced on Monday (29 July) that the state government led by him was working on a policy to award a rank promotion to any Gallantry Award recipients who decides to join the state police, reports Tribune.

Singh said that if any such officers wished to join the Punjab Police, their bravery and service would be given due recognition. He made the announcement while pipping the stars of ASI on the uniform of Kargil war hero and Vir Chakra recipient Satpal Singh.


Prior to his promotion, the war hero was managing traffic in the Sangrur district till 26 July. Promoting him to the rank of ASI, Singh said that he had corrected the wrong done by the previous SAD-BJP government which had ignored his valour.
