People who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat event - representative image
Some individuals who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin and were quarantined at railway buildings in the city have been abusing and spitting on doctors and staff members, ANI has reported.
As per the report, 167 Tablighi Jamaat members were taken to the Tughalakabad Quarantine Centre from Markaz Nizamuddin yesterday night (31 March) to be placed in quarantine.
Ninety-seven were accommodated at the Diesel Shed Training School Hostel Quarantine Centre and 70 were accommodated at RPF Barrack Quarantine Centre.
As per CPRO Northern Railway Deepak Kumar the Tablighi members have been acting in an unruly manner and were making unreasonable demands for food. They also refused to cooperate with the doctors and staffers at the quarantine centre by abusing and even spitting on them.
They later began spitting in the premises and later began roaming around the building.
It was earlier reported that the Tablighi Jamaat members began spitting on the roads while being taken in buses, forcing the health authorities to forcibly shut windows.
