Rahul and Sonia Gandhi Among Worst Performers In 16th Lok Sabha MP Rankings By India Today

India Today's 16th Lok Sabha MP Rankings were made public recently and the Congress party President Rahul Gandhi and heavy weight Sonia Gandhi have been ranked amongst the bottom performers at 387 rank and 381 rank respectively.
The said rankings assessed the performance of a total of 416 PMs for whom quantifiable indicating data was publicly available. India Today's Data Intelligence Unit looked at five data points- attendance record, number of questions asked, number of private member Bills introduced, utilisation of the MPLADS fund and citizen perception about governance.
Rahul Gandhi had a 52 per cent attendance and spent a total of Rs 19.6 crore of the total Rs 25 crore available to the MPs under the MPLADS scheme for development in one's constituency.
Gandhi also did not ask any questions during the designated question hour of the parliament, neither did he introduce any private member Bills. Sonia Gandhi holds a similar record with a slightly higher attendance of 60 per cent.
Top leaders of the BJP including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the other Union ministers could not be ranked due to unavailable data. For instance, Union ministers, Lok Sabha Speaker, deputy Speaker and leader of Opposition are not required to sign the attendance register.
