UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was reportedly displeased with the layout of the Congress manifesto which was released publicly on Tuesday (2 April), reports The Economic Times. Most notably, she wanted the picture of her son, Congress president Rahul Gandhi to be larger on the cover.

Prior to going up to the stage for the manifesto’s release, Sonia Gandhi communicated her dissatisfaction to the convener of the manifesto committee, Rajeev Gowda.

She also wanted for the image of the party’s hand symbol to have been bigger, and also wished for a more bright layout.

At the manifesto launch, the UPA chairperson also did not give a public address unlike a number of other Congress leaders such as former prime minister Manmohan Singh and former finance minister P Chidambaram.

However, Congress spokesperson Randeep Sujrewala denied reports of Sonia Gandhi being miffed. "It is not correct," he remarked.
