Rajasthan: RSS Shakha Attacked, Swayamsevaks Roughed Up In Bundi; Police Accused Of Improper Investigation

Three persons have been arrested in the case of attack on an Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shakha in Boondi, Rajasthan, reports Dainik Bhaskar.

Boondi police SP Mamata Gupta has informed that it was a case of altercations between two groups and three persons have been arrested, namely Saddam, a resident of Tonk, Shahid, and Shafi Mohammad.

On Wednesday, an RSS Shakha was being organised in the Navalsagar park, a location used regularly for the purpose, when a mob reached there and opposed the function. The altercation turned violent and several persons, including young boys participating in the Shakha were beaten up by the mob.

Following the incident, local RSS volunteers reached the police station and demanded action against the accused.

Rajasthan assembly also saw protests by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators. BJP MLA Madan Dilawar stated that the the party will not tolerate such attacks on RSS cadre and demanded action from the government. The BJP MLA had also raised objection over FIRs being registered against only 5 persons when over 50 people were involved in the attack.

The Rajasthan government has assured in the assembly that impartial action will be taken and no accused will be spared.
