Rajasthan Villagers File RTI To Demand Details Of Developmental Work, Receive Condoms In Return

Residents of Chhani Bari village in Bhadra Tehsil claim that they have received condoms instead of answers when they filed a Right To Information (RTI) application, Deccan Chronicle has reported.
The RTI application was filed to seek details of developmental work carried out in the last five years but the answers were not what the villagers sought.
The district administration has taken cognisance of the matter and ordered an investigation.
Vikas Chaudhary, the RTI applicant has been quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying, “I had demanded a record of development work. Initially, I hadn't received any reply and I had to file a first and second application. Even after that, I received an envelope with some waste paper and objectionable things in reply. I demand that proper investigation must be done and action should be taken against the concerned.”
The SDM was quoted as taking cognisance of the incident from which “objectionable content” was recovered. He assured a thorough investigation and asserted that strict action will be taken in case a government employee is found guilty of the same.
