The chairman of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das on Friday (21 February) said that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is likely to begin within six months, reports ANI.

The trust was created on 5 February by the Central government to oversee the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

Das also insisted that the Ram Temple would be built entirely from the public donations and that no grants would be sought by the Trust from the government for its construction.

"6 mahina ke bhitar hi jaldi se jaldi mandir ka nirman prarambh ho jaega (The construction of the temple will start as early as in six months)," Das was quoted in the report as saying.

The Ram Mandir Trust chairman further said that the governers and chief ministers of all the states would be invited to participate in the construction of the grand Ram temple.

"We have already invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, we have Yogi Adityanathji as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. All other Governors and Chief Ministers, who have an interest in religion, will be invited to participate in the construction of the grand temple. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister will also be invited," he said.

Asserting that no grants would be taken from the government, Das said, “The temple will be built from the contributions from the public. The government already has many problems to solve, we cannot burden them with more.”
