Reliance Jio GigaFiber has once again topped the list of fastest internet service providers in the country. In an Index report compiled by Netflix, Jio has continued to top the list since its launch in 2018, reports telecomtalk.info.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index report for February 2019 showed Jio clocking speeds of 3.61 Mbps, followed by 7 Star Digital at 3.43 Mbps and with Spectranet and Airtel with speeds of 3.34 Mbps and 3.29 Mbps respectively. The list had Hathway, Alliance Broadband, MTNL and BSNL at seventh, 11th, 13th and 14th spots.

Jio has consistently been giving speeds above 3 Mbps and an improvement from its previous record of 3.41 Mbps in 2018.

India has a long way to go when it comes to catching up to the world market and the average mobile internet speeds of some countries. The world’s average mobile download speed is 22.82 Mbps and has increased by 15.2 per cent over the past year, while mobile upload speed increased 11.6 per cent to reach 9.19 Mbps, according to a study by Ookla.

India with its mobile internet speeds is at the bottom of the list while improving much more quickly than its neighbouring countries.
