Reliance Jio TV Still Number 1 Despite Reduction In Total Channels; Beats Airtel TV, Other Live TV Services

Reliance Jio’s live television application Jio TV still leads the way in channel offerings despite reducing the number of channels due to recent changes on their platform, the Telecom Talk reports.
Recently, the offering of channels reduced from 640 channels to 633 channels on Jio TV, giving an opportunity for other Live TV services to catch up. Back in November 2018, it was reported that the application not only had more channels than Live TV services, but also beat various DTH and cable services.
Jio TV’s strong forte of wide range of channels is what brings in more users. However the reduction does not seem to affect its ranking. A recent comparison with Airtel TV, saw Jio easily beat Airtel’s live TV services, which used to offer 373 channels. Airtel TV currently offers 377 channels.
Both the services offer TV shows across different languages and genres. Airtel TV leads the offering when it comes to additional benefits as it offers on-demand content. For Jio subscribers, the only way to access on-demand content is by downloading the Jio Cinema application separately on their smartphones.
