Reliance Makes Jio GigaFiber More Lucrative, To Give Free Set Top Box With Every Broadband Connection

In a bid to attract even more customers to its about to be launched GigaFiber broadband and DTH service, Reliance Jio has announced that it would offer free set top boxes with every broadband connection, Press Trust of India has reported.
The optical-fibre based service which was available in select areas on a pilot basis is expected to be launched pan-India today (5 September).
The subscription prices are expected to start from Rs 700 per month and will go up to Rs 10,000. Reports have also claimed that subscribers would be offered a free 4K TV if they opt for a long-term plan.
Reliance Jio’s hybrid set-top-box is expected to offer OTT content like Netflix, Hotstar and more along with internet services.
Jio would also provide access to its OTT services like Jio TV, Jio Cinema and Jio Saavan. It is also expected to provide other services like gaming, video calling and virtual reality via the STB. It is expected to launch on 5 September.
