BJP leader Kirit Somaiya (ANI)
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya today alleged that Sachin Vaze, arrested by NIA in Mansukh Hiren death case, has six businesses and two Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Mashelkar, Vijay Gawai, as business partners.
“Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze has more than 6 businesses - Multibuild Infraprojects Limited, Techlegal Solutions Pvt Ltd, DGNext Multimedia Limited and others. Who were the business partners? Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Mashelkar, and Vijay Gawai,” said Somaiya.
Sachin Vaze, the “encounter specialist” of Mumbai police, was arrested yesterday night by NIA in connection to the Ambani bomb threat case, one day after the Opposition attacks forced the Maharashtra government to transfer him from the Crime Branch.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut came out in support of Vaze after the arrest.
“I believe Sachin Waze is a very honest and capable officer. He has been arrested in connection with gelatin sticks that were found. One suspicious death also occurred. It's Mumbai Police's responsibility to investigate the matter. No central team was needed,” Raut said.
Vaze has been sent to NIA custody till 25 March by a Mumbai court after dismissing interim bail plea in the Mansukh Hiren death case. The court said that his "custodial interrogation is necessary".
