Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (14 February) condemned the dastardly terror attack on the CRPF jawans in Kashmir’s Pulwama where at least 20 para-military forces are reported to have been martyred. Some media outlets have pegged the casualty figures at 39.
Modi took to Twitter to describe the terror attack as “despicable” and promised that the sacrifices of the brave security forces won’t go in vain. He expressed solidarity with the martyred CRPF personnel and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The PM also informed that he is in touch with Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other top officials to assess the situation.
Rajnath Singh would visit Srinagar in the wake of this attack and has spoken to Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik.
As per media reports, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is monitoring the situation and is being briefed by CRPF officials.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
