‘Save Congress From H D Revanna’, Cry Party Workers In Hassan; Appeal To Ex-CM Siddaramaiah For Intervention

JD(S)-Congress infighting has escalated yet again in Karnataka as Congress party workers in Hassan, a JD(S) stronghold, are upset with Minister H D Revanna for trying to weaken the party’s presence there.
Party workers from Hassan formed a delegation and approached former Chief Minister and Congress State Legislature party chief Siddaramaiah, informing him that the party’s footprint was reducing by the day, thanks to H D Revanna’s efforts.
They also credited Siddaramaiah with keeping the party alive in the region, since the agrarian belt is considered to be a JD(S) stronghold. Revanna represents Holenarasipura Assembly constituency in Hassan and is currently handling the Public Works Ministry.
Deccan Herald quoted Revanna as saying, “I don’t know why they’ve complained against me, if at all they have. If Siddaramaiah talks to me, I’m ready to discuss this. I’ve never indulged in vengeful politics.”
Dinesh Gundu Rao, president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) said that it was an “internal party matter” and dismissed it. He said, “They wanted to discuss problems concerning party workers and to press for more representation to the district during government nominations or appointments,” Deccan Herald reported.
