Shaligram Stones For Construction Of Lord Ram's Murti Reach Ayodhya From Nepal

The Shaligram shilas stones that will likely be used for building murtis of Lord Ram and Mata Janaki reached Ayodhya from Nepal on Wednesday (1 February).
Two Shaligram (non-anthropomorphic representations of Lord Vishnu in Hindu religion) stones were dispatched from Nepal on 28 January.
The stones were first brought to Janaki temple in Janakpurdham in Nepal from Galeshwar of Kali Gandaki.
The Shaligrams are found in abundance on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, run through the Myagdi and Mustang districts.
Nepali Congress leader and former deputy prime minister Bimalendra Nidhi, who hails from Janakpur, the birth place of Sita, coordinated the Janaki temple's efforts to send the two stones from the Kali Gandaki River.
Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, said that the Shaligram stones used to carve the murtis of Shri Ram arrived at Ayodhya from Nepal after travelling through multiple cities.
The Trust has been constituted to look after construction and management of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.
The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is going on at a fast pace since Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on 5 August 2020.
The Ram Mandir Trust has set December 2023 as the deadline and the temple will be open for devotees from January 2024.
