Six people were injured yesterday (28 May) when unidentified miscreants pelted stones a Rajdhani Express travelling from Sealdah station in Bihar to New Delhi, Jagran has reported.
The incident occurred as the train was passing through the Manpur station in Gaya. The train’s windows were smashed and several travellers terminated their journey after the incident.
Angry that their train had been delayed, passengers from another train travelling to Howrah engaged in pelting stones on the Rajdhani Express. The train had been delayed due to a railway crane having broken down on the track.
Chaos prevailed following the incident and situation could be brought under control only after Railway Police Force was deployed. Almost all windows in the train’s bogies and even its engine were damaged by the stone pelting.
The Rajdhani Express was later flagged off with a delay of almost an hour after the windows were replaced at the Gaya station. Several scared travellers however, abandoned their journey altogether citing the lack of security in the train.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
