In a move to improve last-mile connectivity in Delhi, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is tying up with application-based cab aggregators, to set up kiosks at the metro stations.

Metro Rail News reports that in the beginning, the kiosk service will be available outside five metro stations. Slowly, the service will expand to various stations which have ample space for creation of kiosks, alongside pickup and drop spots.

“As per the agreement with DMRC, cab aggregators will be setting up kiosks at Dwarka Sector 21, Sikanderpur, MG Road, Noida Sector 18 and Rajiv Chowk stations,” a DMRC spokesperson said.

Dwarka sector 21 and Sikanderpur stations will have kiosks of Uber, and MG Road and Noida sector 18 will have kiosks set up by Ola, the spokesperson said, while adding that both Ola and Uber cabs will be available on Rajiv Chowk station. “Rajiv Chowk will be the common station for both aggregators where Uber has already set up its kiosk,” the spokesperson said.

Proper non-commercial signs will introduced at the stations. Clear pick-up and drop point identification will allow users to avail of cabs easily.
