As summer is searing in, the woes of the railway passengers gets more as they are deprived from one of the go to chilling solutions -- nimbu paani, reports Indian Express.
As the videos showing water from public tanks was used to prepare the juice by the vendors have gone viral, the Central Railway has decided to impose a ban on the drink.
“As it is not possible to ensure the the quality of water used in the preparation of lime and kokam juice sold across the stalls in the railway stations of the entire CR zone, the sale of these products are banned” says Shailendra Kumar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, CR.
The ban has invoked sharp responses from the vendors as these drinks form 50% of the overall income revenue earned during summer.
