Tablighi Jamaat Leader Maulana Saad Booked For Culpable Homicide, May Be Arrested

Maulana Muhammad Saad Khandalvi the chief of Nizamuddin Markaz which organised the infamous Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi has been booked by the Delhi Police for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, India Today has reported.
The Delhi police is first expected to take a statement from Saad, following which it will decide on whether to arrest him.
The Maulana has been missing ever since the Tablighi Jamaat event blew into limelight and has told the authorities that he had placed himself in self-isolation. The isolation period has now ended.
He was said to have been hiding at his aide’s house on the outskirts of Delhi.
He has been served multiple notices by the cops, where in he was asked a series of questions pertaining to the probe against him and other leaders.
Saad has also been accused of giving controversial speeches like telling his followers to keep assembling in the mosques no matter what. He asks Muslims to not respect the lockdown even if its temporary.
“Only the kafirs rely on the material remedies and resources", Saad was recorded as saying.
