Five Dish TV antennas present on the buildings at the vote counting centre in Kunthavai Naacchiyar Government Arts College for Women in Thanjavur had to be removed after complaints from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidates.

DMK nominees T.K.G. Neelamegam, Durai Chandrasekaran and Ramachandran had visited the aforementioned college and raised their objections to the officials stationed over there.

They even demanded replacement of the existing CCTV cameras with proper rotational ones. The politicians protested against the college principal, professors and staff visiting the premises whilst it remains under the control of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The police officials and the paramilitary forces have been deployed at the concerned centres throughout the day in a three-tier security arrangement in order to deny access to the control rooms to the local political strongmen.

The units were sealed in the presence of the agents of the contesting candidates after the conclusion of the elections on 6th April.
