Tata Power Distributes 1.2 Lakh Cloth Made Face Masks Among Migrant Workers Under ‘Dhaaga’ Initiative

Tata Power revealed on Monday (13 April) that it had distributed as many as 1.2 lakh homemade cloth masks to the vulnerable sections of migrant workers across the states of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Odisha, reports Economic Times.

The masks were distributed under Tata Power's woman-based micro-enterprise initiative christened Dhaaga under which the women are trained as artisans in readymade garments manufacturing and traditional handicrafts.


As per the details available about Dhaaga on Tata Power's official website, the women under the initiative make products ranging from kurtis, wrap-arounds, palazzos to handbags. Under the initiative, as many as 500 women in over 45 villages have been trained in making handmade garments.
