India's leading DTH operator Tata Sky has announced an Annual Service Commitment (ASC) plan to address the issue of it reducing the warranty period on new connections from three years to one year, Television Buzz has reported.
Until last year Tata Sky used to offer a three year warranty plan for new connections which was curtailed to one year. This meant that if the set-top-box suffered any malfunction after one year the subscribers would need to shell out Rs 150 per technician visit.
Now under the new ASC plan technician visits, STB, LNB, Dish and Adaptor will be covered for 1 year.
The annual price for this ASC will range from Rs 199 to Rs 499. Subscribers would be able to availe ASC for Rs 199 during the product installation otherwise will have to shell out Rs 299 during the warranty period. Post warranty, the ASC will cost Rs 499 for primary connections and Rs 449 for secondary connections.
