With days left for highly anticipated broadband service-the Jio GigaFiber commercial rollout, Reliance Jio would face a new competitor in Tata Sky. Direct to home (DTH) operator Tata Sky has entered the broadband market in India which would soon be taken over by the Reliance Jio GigaFiber, BGR reports.

Tata Sky Broadband service is available in 21 cities across India and offers a number of data plans. However, with reports that Reliance would be unveiling the service at the upcoming Reliance AGM, Tata Sky is ramping up its offerings. The DTH operator has started to offer unlimited data plans to its subscribers.

Tata Sky is offering five unlimited monthly packages with different speed offerings. The basic plan offers 16 Mbps speed at Rs 590 per month. Other plans offering 25 Mbps and 50 Mbps costs Rs 700 and Rs 800 respectively. The final two plans offering high speeds of 75 Mbps and 100 Mbps are priced at Rs 1,100 and Rs 1,300 respectively.

All the five plans come with the free router, data rollover and safe custody plans. However, Tata Sky would charge installation fees. The plans are available in three, six and nine-month long term rentals as well.

While the service is not offering any discounts when subscriber opts long term rentals, the service is offering extra data for four months.
