Tech Mahindra Bags Contract Worth Rs 300 Crore To Develop Access Control System For Indian Navy

Embarking on its most significant defence order worth over Rs 300 crore, Tech Mahindra will soon provide state-of-the-art Access Control System to the Indian Navy, reports Economic Times.

The proposed Armed Forces Security Access Card (AFSAC) Project, will provide Radio Frequency Access Identification (RFID) based access control to replace to existing paper-based identity card for all the personnel of Navy, including dependants and ex-servicemen.

Tech Mahindra will develop a secure application to manage access control, network control devices and the AFSAC card through a data centre, which is supposed to become operational within the next two years. Such a set-up will ensure smooth issuance, handling, administration, management and life cycle support.

“The security of Indian Naval establishments against unauthorised access, is a thrust area and the AFSAC Project will be an important step towards achieving this aim; with a combination of cutting edge technology and professional execution.
