Billionaire Elon Musk-backed Tesla Inc has started off its recruitment process for senior-level and leadership roles in India.
The electric car maker is currently hiring a head of human resources, head of sales and marketing whereas there are conjectures that the company has already roped in a senior legal counsel too.
Moreover, Tesla is also believed to have promoted Prashanth Menon, its employee for four years, to the post of the country’s CEO in May.
Back in February, it had emerged that the California-based company has finalized Karnataka to build its first plant as the Mint reports that the automaker has been in talks with the local officials to also kick off car assembly in Bengaluru’s suburbs.
Furthermore, Tesla is also apparently anticipating additional incentives for electric vehicle makers under the Narendra Modi-led government’s flagship production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes ahead of contemplating to make a serious progress in the Indian market.
Recently, the union cabinet has given its approval to $2.5 billion plan to augment the country’s storage capacity of battery to around 50 gigawatt hours as the absence of a robust, viable charging infrastructure is widely viewed as an obstruction towards large-scale EV adoption in India.
