Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday (21 February) laid the foundation stone for the ‘Thal Sena Bhawan’, the new headquarter building of the Indian Army, at the Delhi cantonment in the national capital.
The ‘Thal Sena Bhawan’ has been conceptualised as a multistory green building in consonance with environmental norms, the Indian Army said.
Along with the Defence Minister, Indian Army Chief General M M Naravane and other senior Army officers were also present on the occasion.
A multi-faith prayer was also held at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Thal Sena Bhawan.
Speaking at the event, Singh said that the foundation stone of the Thal Sena Bhawan will work as the “source of the inspiration for all of us”, reports Times of India.
He added that it is because of brave soldiers that India is known as a competent nation in the world today.
Singh said that the new headquarters will be dedicated to the courage and valour of those unsung heroes of the armed forces who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
