South Bangalore Lok Sabha MP Tejaswi Surya

South Bangalore’s Member of Parliament Tejaswi Surya made his maiden Lok Sabha speech on Tuesday (25 June) wherein he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rise of new India in which a youth from a middle class family can become the voice of youngsters in the Lok Sabha.

During the speech, the 28-year-old Surya expressed gratitude for being allowed to sit and speak in the hallowed halls of the Parliament once graced by greats like Sardar Patel, Rajaji, Ambedkar and Vajpayee.

He credited common Indian volunteers for the big victory of the BJP and asserted that the democracy is being strengthened under the Modi government. He also said that fake news and lies of the opposition fell flat as today’s youth does not believe in the narrative crafted by a handful of editors in Lutyens Delhi.

He added that the most important and irreversible changes India has witnessed under the Narendra Modi led government is the proud revival of the Hindu cultural identity, which people don’t fear wearing on their sleeve anymore.

“We feel proud that we belong to a Hindu civilisation as great as ours’, said Tejaswi Surya. He claimed that a culturally repressed country which would not wear its identity on its sleeve has transformed itself in the last five years.
