Tibetan Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama getting vaccinated against Covid-19 (Pic Via Twitter)
Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama has been administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday (6 March) at Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala.
He received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at zonal hospital in Dharamshala.
A video of the Tibetan spiritual leader getting vaccinated was also shared on his official Twitter account.
The development comes after the Dharamsala-based Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) had written to the Indian government, requesting it to make special provisions for Dalai Lama's vaccination.
The CTA, also known as the Tibetan government-in-exile, had asked the Centre and the Kangra district medical officer to vaccinate the Dalai Lama and those working around him at the earliest, reports Hindustan Times.
The Tibetan administration had also requested for vaccination of the whole Tibetan community living in India.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
