Titli Effect: As The Sea Rises, Goa Tourism Warns Beach-Goers Against Venturing Out Till Sunday

Cautioned by the rising sea water levels on Goa's beaches on account of cyclone ‘Titli’ as well as lunar influences, the Tourism Department has warned tourists not to venture into the sea till Sunday (14 October), reports Business Standard.
The tourism authorities are also reported to have asked beach shacks to take adequate precautions to ensure the safety of tourists. "Tourists are advised to take utmost care while at beaches and also follow the instructions of lifeguards deputed," says the statement.
Large tracts on beaches along Goa's coastline got submerged on 9 October and 10 October due to Cyclone Titli as well as lunar influences, according to India Meteorological Department officials in Goa.
Tourism authorities expect the “rise in sea levels phenomenon” to continue for a few days more. "The Goan coast has witnessed a sudden rise in sea water level. The sea water is likely to rise further," the statement says.
Goan beaches are one of the top tourism destinations in the country and attract more than 6 million people every year.
