As per a video which has emerged on social media, a TMC leader has been recorded threatening to discontinue welfare benefits to voters if they don’t vote for his party’s candidate Mimi Chakraborty.

In the video the leader can be heard threatening to cancel cheques of welfare scheme beneficiaries, including that of a Rs 2 lakh life insurance payout for family members of the deceased.

He then names his party’s candidate Mimi Chakraborty and outright demanded that votes be cast in her favour. He also appealed to his audience that they attend Chakraborty’s public rally and ordered them to not carry out activities supporting CPM.

Earlier in a similar incident a TMC leader in the state’s Budge Budge region was caught on camera openly threatening opposition polling agents and ‘traitors’ with dire consequences after the Lok Sabha polls get over.
