Chief Minister MK Stalin meets Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Delhi Airport
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at the Delhi airport today (28 April) while returning to Chennai.
While the meeting was unplanned, news reports said that Chief Minister Stalin had discussed issues like amounts due to Tamil Nadu from the Centre.
The meeting is, however, being discussed widely for its timing. The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is currently in a spot of bother due to multiple issues like the DMK Files presented by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai, two audios alleged to be that of Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan and the Income Tax raids on G-Square, a real estate company allegedly linked to the DMK first family.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Stalin met President Droupadi Murmu to invite her to inaugurate a 1000-bed hospital built in memory of his father and former chief minister M Karunanidhi.
President Murmu has accepted the invitation.

Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
