India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has said that that he was totally convinced about the majority of Kashmiri citizens supporting the Centre's move to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution, reports Money Control.
Doval said, "I am fully convinced that a majority of Kashmiris totally support the abrogation of Article 370. There is a vocal minority that opposes it. It appears to people that that is the voice of the people. That is not necessarily true."
Interacting with a group of journalists, Doval justified the restrictions imposed in Kashmir Valley and reasoned that the curbs had been put in place to prevent any nefarious mischief by Pakistan, its army and proxy militia forces and outfits.
He further apprised the media persons that the restrictions had been progressively eased over the past month and that only 10 of the 199 police districts in Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh have any restrictions, while landline connections have been restored completely.
