As the mass movement to protest Supreme Court’s verdict on the Sabarimala issue gains momentum, the ruling CPM is finding itself at an ominous position to defend their stance on the issue.
The ruling coalition (LDF) has therefore decided to launch a massive campaign from 16 October to 31 October defending its stance on the Supreme Court verdict reports The Hindu.
After a meeting of the LDF state committee, its convener A Vijayaraghavan had said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would launch the campaign.
The government also plans micro-level campaigns organising family get-together to explain the stance on Sabarimala issue.
He slammed BJP and RSS for using the protests to further their political interests. The Congress had asked its workers to join the BJP protest, said Vijayaraghavan. Interestingly, he also claimed that the Congress has directed its workers to refrain from using the BJP’s flag.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had alleged that the RSS was inciting religious sentiments and had condemned the protests against the government. Amidst the protest, the government is reportedly not able to make any progress in implementing the order.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
