According to Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani, all LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches currently in use by the Indian Railways, will be recalled to fix a certain technical issue. It caused the trains to jerk when they restarted after every stop.
“There were complaints of jerks at stop/start, and we have found a solution. On the advice of the Research Designs & Standards Organisation, we are going to change the draft gear which was causing the jerks. All the LHB coaches will be recalled and fitted with balanced draft gear to rectify the defect,” Mr. Lohani told The Hindu.
Mumbai Mirror had reported in September 2018 that new LHB coaches introduced on the Mumbai-Manmad, were vandalised by savage passengers, only after four months of destruction. Destruction and incidents of theft left the Indian Railways with a repair costs amounting to Rs. 9 lakh.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
