‘Trin Trin’ For Bengaluru: City All Set To Go The Amsterdam Way, Bicycles To Hit The Streets From October 15

Namma (our) Trin Trin bicycles, which are a part of the Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) in Bengaluru will hit the streets from October 15, the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) said. This will boost the last mile connectivity especially to users of metro train services in the city.
Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has allowed the bicycles to be parked at all the metro stations in the city, Bangalore Mirror reported. 2,000 bicycles for two clusters will be introduced first. In the first zone, two clusters will be introduced, and 181 docking stations have been identified. It is set to have 3,148 bicycles and the second zone will have 2,852 with 164 docking stations.
Bicycle Day, Open Street Day are some of the ideas proposed to increase awareness of the facility. Mysuru already has the services open and charge users based on membership ranging from Rs 20 (10 days) to Rs 600 (one year). Users who aren’t registered can access the bicycles free of cost for the first half an hour, the pay for further usage.
The total project cost is coming up to Rs 80.18 crore.
