Tripura: Seven Rohingyas Arrested From Kanchanjungha Express Following Suspicious Behaviour

Seven Rohingya minor migrants were arrested on Sunday (3 February) from the Kanchanjunga express while on their way to neighbouring Assam. They were arrested at the Dharmanagar Railway Station in North Tripura and then handed over to the police.
“They were on board the Kanchanjunga Express and had general category tickets from Agartala till Badarpur junction in Assam. Some of them alighted on the station and were behaving suspiciously. So we detained them and later found out they were Rohingyas from Myanmar,” said Railway Protection Force (RPF) assistant Sub Inspector Laxman Debbarma.
The detainees include one boy and six girls, and they have been handed over to Dharmanagar Women’s Police Station as reported by Indian Express.
Furthermore, Debbarma said that the Rohingyas were detained after security personnel found them behaving suspiciously in the station premises. Last month around 67 Rohingyas were arrested in Tripura.
Thirty-one out of those were stranded between the international borders of Bangladesh and India for four days before Indian security personnel detained them and handed them over to the Tripura police.
