Following on President Donald Trump’s tweet on Monday, in which he blasted Pakistan for supporting terror outfits, the United States has suspended its 255 million dollars military aid to Pakistan for now, Mint has reported.

According to the daily’s report, the White House has confirmed the move saying the fate of such assistance will depend on Islamabad's response to terrorism.

“The president has made clear the US expects Pakistan to take decisive action against terrorists and militants on its soil, and that Pakistan’s actions in support of the South Asia Strategy will ultimately determine the trajectory of our relationship, including future security assistance,” he said.

Trump had on Monday, in this first tweet of 2018, blasted Pakistan for “lies and deceit” in the war on terror and providing “safe haven” to terrorists in return for $33 billion aid provided by the US over the last 15 years.
