Two Days After Receiving First Shot Of Chinese COVID-19 Vaccine, Pakistan PM Imran Khan Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Two days after he recieved the first shot of the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Pakistani Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination confirmed the development on Saturday (20 March).

Sultan said that the 68-year-old former cricketer-turned-politician has quarantined himself at home.

"PM Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self isolating at home," Sultan said in a tweet.


It should be noted that Khan had received his first shot of the Sinopharm on Thursday (18 March).

Khan received the first dose of the Chinese vaccine after the second consignment of the vaccine was delivered from China to Pakistan on 17 March.

The vaccination drive in Pakistan is currently underway for senior citizens.
