Two More Die In Telangana Of Covid-19 After Returning From Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat Congregation

Two more Coronavirus (Covid-19) positive patients died in Telangana today (3 April), taking the total number of death from the pandemic virus in the State to 11.
All the deceased had got infected with Covid-19 after they visited Nizamuddin Banglewali Markaz in Delhi for the Aalami Mashwara Tablighi Jamaat congregation in mid-March.
Telangana Today reported that 75 more persons, all of them who attended the Nizamabad Banglewali Markaz congregation, tested positive for Covid-19. Telangana reported the largest number of Coronavirus cases in a single day today.
The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has now increased to 229, including the 11 deaths. A heartening development is that at least 32 persons have recovered from the pandemic virus so far.
The first Covid-19 positive case was reported in the State on March 2 but number has increased rapidly over the last couple of days after those who have returned from the Aalami Mashwara congregation were tested.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the virus found in the State cases were of a virulent form. The virus strain found in those who had come from the Banglewali event was different from one found in those returning from abroad, leading to the fatalities.
The state has been witnessed a huge surge in coronavirus positive cases since Monday when six deaths were reported.
Besides those returning from Nizamuddin congregation and abroad, Telangana also saw 10 of a group of 13 Indonesian Tablighi Jamaat preachers testing positive.
The Indonesian Tabligh Jamaat preachers were among the first few to test Covid-19 positive in Telangana on 18 March. All the 10 have since recovered.
They had come to Karimnagar from Bhopal by train after landing in Delhi on 9 March from their country.
