UK: India Raises Concern Over Plans Of Pakistani Groups To Burn Indian Constitution In London On Republic Day

The Indian High Commissioner has expressed concerns over the planned protest by the Pakistani groups who intend to protest outside the Indian embassy and burn the Indian Constitution, reports India Today.
As per reports, the Indian High Commissioner in London, Ruchi Ghanshyam, had a call with the Home Secretary of UK, Priti Patel, and expressed concerns over the plan to burn the Indian Constitution.
The High Commission tweeted, "High Commissioner called on Home Secretary Priti Patel & discussed issues of mutual interest to take forward India-UK ties. She conveyed security and safety concerns flowing from planned protests including on Republic Day at India House."
Fahim Kayani, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, one of the organisations involved in planning the protest said, "Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and all like-minded organisations who are seeking peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute are part of the protest."
As per reports, social media is used as medium to circulate the message and invite "like-minded" people to join and burn the Indian Constitution.
Several member of Indian diaspora have been writing to UK authorities to ban the protest. President of Overseas Friends of BJP, Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat reportedly said, "We are writing letters to Mayor of London, Met Police commissioner and Home Secretary. We are also starting a community response document to be submitted to the PM."
It should be noted that similar protests happened on the Indian Independence Day on 15 August which turned to clashes and vandalism outside the embassy.
On 15 August, a large number of people comprising predominantly of British Pakistanis, Pro-Khalistan Sikhs and British Kashmiris gathered outside the Indian mission in London, where the Indian diaspora was celebrating the seventy third Independence Day of India.
The Pakistan-sponsored protesters threw stones and other objects on the Indian mission as well as the diaspora and also damaged the Indian tricolor.
