Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal Commissions First Aqua Mega Food Park In Andhra Pradesh

Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday (12 February) commissioned the Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, an official release said.
The food park was commissioned by the minister in Tundurru village in West Godavari via video conferencing.
The park, promoted by Godavari Mega Food Park Private Limited, is the first operationalised mega aqua food park. It is established for processing of fish and marine products in the state, according to the statement.
The mega park has been set up in 57.81 acres at a cost of Rs 122.60 crore. The central processing centre (CPC) of this mega park includes facilities like 1.5 tonnes per hour (TPH) pre-processing line for fish and shrimp, freezing of fish and shrimp at 1.5 TPH, 2,000 metric tonne (MT) cold storage for fish, 1,000 MT cold storage for shrimp, ice plant and food testing laboratory.
“The modern infrastructure for food processing created at the park will benefit farmers, growers, processors and consumers of Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas immensely and prove to be a big boost to the growth of the food processing sector in the State of Andhra Pradesh,” the ministry said in the statement.
