UP Government Plans Universal Healthcare By 2021: Announces 13 New Medical Colleges And 500 New Diagnostic Centres

In a bid to bolster the access to healthcare services of varied kinds across the state, the Government of Uttar Pradesh will be setting up 500 diagnostics centre under the (Public-Private Partnership) PPP mode, reports Livemint.

The announcement was made by a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sidharth Nath Singh, who was earlier the state's health minister. Singh now has been moved to the Ministry for MSME and NRI investment promotion.


Singh also announced that the State Government had decided to build 13 more colleges across the state to ensure that there shall be no paucity with regards to quality and quantity of doctors in the state. He also said that the state government would ensure that its goal of Universal Healthcare for all citizens is achieved by 2021.
