The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) said on Wednesday that it will provide legal help to the persons arrested by the ATS in Lucknow for their alleged terror activities.

The JUH also demanded the case to be tried in a fast-track court.

The Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested three more suspects on Wednesday in connection with planning terror attacks in the state, particularly in Lucknow.

According to an official statement, the three were arrested following information provided by Maseeruddin and Minhaz Ansari, who were arrested on Sunday.

Notably, the UP ATS, in a major operation, had arrested the two terrorists, linked to Al Qaeda, from Kakori on the outskirts of Lucknow on Sunday.

The two ultras were reportedly hiding in a house in Kakori area. The ATS team had received a tip-off about their presence and had been tracking them since the past one week. According to ATS sources, two pressure cooker bombs, a detonator, and 6 to 7 kilograms of explosives were recovered from the house.

ATS sources said that preliminary investigations have revealed that the two terrorists planned to target a BJP MP and some senior BJP leaders in Lucknow.
