UP: Over 5.5 Lakh Diyas To Light Up Ayodhya This Diwali As Yogi Government Plans Mega Deepotsav Event

This Diwali, the holy city of Ayodhya is set to be decorated and lit up like never before with the Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) having decided to light an unprecedented 5.5 lakh earthen lamps in the city, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The Deepotsava, under which the 5.5 lakh earthen lamps will be lighted in Ayodhya on 27 October to celebrate the festival of Diwali, shall involve massive participation from the public.
The mega event shall be attended by several foreign dignitaries whose names are still to be announced, apart from the State's Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath, State's Governor Anandiben Patel and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi.
As per the chief secretary of the State, RK Tiwari, the officials have already made the required preparations for what will be the third such Deepotsava event organised in the State since CM Adityanath came to power in March 2017.
It should be noted that the city of Ayodhya had created a Guinness World record last year by lighting up more than three lakh earthen lamps on the banks of Saryu river under the Deepotsava event.
