Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced in Islamabad yesterday (17 August) that his country will create a special Kashmir cell at its foreign office and also embed Kashmir desks in all its foreign missions, reports IANS.
The announcement was taken in the aftermath of a closed door meeting of the United Nations Security Council in which Pakistan failed in its objective of drawing international censure on India regarding the withdrawal of special status for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
It is likely that the special Kashmir cell will be used to further Pakistan’s anti-India narrative abroad on the Kashmir issue.
Qureshi also went on to claim that the Pakistan Army was ready to face any military action from India.
"India can (resort to) misadventure in its attempt to divert the world's attention away from its actions in occupied Kashmir. The Pakistan army and the nation are ready to defend if India attempts any misadventure," he stated.
