Police have arrested a young man for pretending to be an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and delivering motivational speeches on how to crack Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. Incidentally, the man, Abhay Meena has not completed his school education, India Today reports.

Meena was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) after investigators found him to be felicitated by various organisations in different states because of his fake bio-data and ability to speak. Meena, came into police radar after a person got doubts on his identity after he had misspelt the word ‘branch’ as ‘branche’.

Additional Superintendent of Police, SOG, Karan Sharma said that Meena was is in his early-20s and was extorting money on the pretext of being an IPS officer.

On Meena’s Facebook page, he introduces himself as the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) posted with CB-CID. He has also described himself as an IIT-Delhi graduate with a B Tech degree.

Meena belonged to Piloda village in Sawai Madhopur. He also has a flat in Jaipur from where police were able to seize an IPS uniform, a wireless set, three airguns and a fake ID card. He used to obtain free service from five-star hotels. Police believe that they can find many such cases after a thorough investigation.
