The wait for the UPSC Prelims 2019 result has ended has the commission has published the list of qualified candidates today. They can check the result online at upsc.gov.in, reports Times of India.

On the homepage, click on the link which reads “UPSC Civil Service Preliminary result 2019”. Then candidates will have to login with their UPSC registration number and date of birth.

This year, lakhs of candidates appeared for the UPSC prelims examination. Out of these the candidates given in the list today have been selected for the Mains examination stage. The marks of prelims are not counted in the total, as it is only of qualifying nature. The Mains examination will be held from 20 September 2019. Indian Forest Service main examination will be conducted on 1 December, 2019.

The candidates who are selected for the Mains examination should immediately start answer-writing practice daily. Nothing in the mains preparation is as rewarding as the habit of answer-writing. During the remaining 60 days of preparation, candidates should try to revise as many times as possible, especially the optional subject, as optional subject question paper is more predictable than the GS papers.

For those who couldn’t clear the prelims this time, there is no need to feel disheartened. Several candidates who went on to hold a spot in top-100 also faced failure in the prelims examination. UPSC examination requires long-term commitment. This is by the virtue of the design of the exam with three stages- Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Candidates should immediately start preparing for the next attempt.
