UPSC Civil Services: Telangana Government To Provide Free Coaching To IAS Aspirants, Application Process Begins

Telangana State Schedule Caste study circle announced free coaching classes for aspirants of 2020 UPSC exam. The study circle which falls under the purview of the department of Schedule Castes Development will coach 250 candidates from SC, ST and BC communities, reports News18.

The reservation of the candidates will be 15 per cent SCs, 10 per cent STs and 15 per cent backward castes and of the total 33.33 per cent of the seats are allocated for women and 2 per cent to physically challenged persons. Of the 250 seats, 150 seats will be for new candidates while the remaining 100 for repeaters.

Eligibility and Application Process:

The application process for the free coaching began on 4 May 2019 where general or professional degree candidates belonging to the SC, ST and BC communities from the 33 districts of the state can apply. Selection process will be based on Preliminary exam, Mains exam and a Viva.

The Preliminary exam will be held on 9 June at Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Adilabad, Mahaboobnagar, Sangareddy and Nalgonda districts while the Mains will be held on 23 June in Hyderabad followed by Viva.
